It seems to me that 5 letter verbs are the shortest verbs in Mvskoke m'opunvkv. It makes sense to me that the shortest verbs may also be some of the most foundational.
For example, "esetv" is the verb for "to take, hold or
have (one)" and it is used prolifically in the
language, especially in the instrumental prefix
form "es-".
Emetv and vretv also seem to be used prolifically in prefixes affixed to other verbs.
